Organizations provide programs and services to kids and families in need.

Staten Island, NY – Borough President Vito J. Fossella announced today that he has allocated $160,000 in discretionary funds from our office to organizations on Staten Island that provide numerous programs and services to children and their families throughout the borough.

The entities that received the funding include the Boy Scouts in New Dorp, The Carl V. Bini Foundation, Children’s Aid Society, Dr. Theodore Atlas Foundation, Emergency Children’s Help Organization, Empowerment Zone, Global Village, and the Jewish Community Center.

The funds were used to improve operations and spaces of the organizations which will increase access to serve more families in need. An example of allocations include transportation services for the Sunrise Day Camp participants.

“Staten Island’s youth is the future of the borough. We are grateful to be able to invest in our children and thank the organizations who dedicate their efforts to the well-being of families across Staten Island,” said Borough President Fossella. “The impact of these allocations will result in more of our youth being able to benefit from the educational and recreational programs available.”
