MEDIA ALERT: ON THURSDAY, MAY 4, MATERIALS FOR THE ARTS LAUNCHES “MFTA AFTER HOURS,” OFFERING EVENING SHOPPING HOURS TO DOE EDUCATORS FOR THE FIRST TIME
On Thursday, May 4 at 5pm, Materials for the Arts – a program of the NYC Department of Cultural Affairs – will kick off a new initiative specifically designed for DOE educators:
MFTA After Hours.
For the first time, shopping hours at MFTA’s 35,000 square-foot warehouse in Long Island City, Queens will be extended to 7pm, expanding access for DOE educators beyond the end of the school day.
Now, educators from MFTA’s 1,800+ partner public schools will be able to schedule visits to access the vast array of free supplies available at MFTA after the school day ends on the first Thursday of each month. This kick off ceremony will include remarks from NYC Cultural Affairs Commissioner Laurie Cumbo, demonstrations by MFTA Education Center staff, and more.
