UPS To Hold Job Fair at New Bayonne Facility: June 28

Staten Islander News has previously covered other job fairs and opportunities on the island, including the Government Job Fair last year and the announcement of a need for more court stenographers in the court system.

Mayor Jimmy Davis announced UPS will host a job fair at the Bayonne UPS Hub on Friday, June 28 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. This event will take place in the UPS Employment Center, located on the left side of the parking lot at 400 Port Lincoln Road, Bayonne, NJ (sited at the former Military Ocean Terminal).

UPS will meet with candidates and accept applications for a number of employment opportunities at this new logistics center.

Mayor Davis said, “It is great news that UPS is creating more jobs at its Bayonne facility. We are happy to work with UPS again to promote employment opportunities in our community. UPS can offer prospective employees good jobs with attractive wages and benefits. I urge local applicants to take advantage of the upcoming UPS job fairs.”

UPS invites job applicants to register for appointments by using the Registration Form Link. The URL for the link is: https://forms.office.com/r/sVpEWRkSQr. Walk-in candidates are also welcome.

The company stated, “UPS has a long history of taking care of its employees so they can take care of their families, customers, and communities around the world. Working at UPS is more than just earning a paycheck: for many, it becomes a life-long career with strong, reliable pay and benefits, great opportunities for promotion, and paid education.” UPS added the following:

The UPS logistics facility is located at the former Military Ocean Terminal, near the New York Bay waterfront.  Planning for the facility began in 2018 and the vacant buildings were imploded in 2021  to create space for its construction.

Bayonne is a community that retains many of the elements of a small town. One and two family homes, small apartment buildings, and small business predominate. There is a population of 62,000 people who take pride in their hometown and its history. Bayonne residents and their ancestors moved to the city from many parts of the world. During colonial times and the first century of the American Republic, the Dutch, British, and Africans were the first groups to arrive after the Native Americans. Subsequent waves of immigrants came from all over Europe, especially between the 1880s and the 1920s. In recent decades, sources of immigration have largely been represented from countries in Latin America, the Middle East, and Southeastern Asia. Each group has left its mark on the cultural, religious and political life of the community.
