A Statement from Borough President Vito Fossella on Last Friday’s “HUUUUGE” Staten Island “Trump Dance”

Editor’s note: The Trump Dance has been performed all over the country in support of President-elect Donald Trump.  It’s similar to a dance the president did on stage at several of his rallies, and it’s set to the music of YMCA by The Village People.  Below is Assemblyman Tannousis’ video from the event.

We’ve also previously covered the migrant crisis from multiple angles, including care of the stranger as a faith mandate for some religions, and the protests on Staten Island against migrant shelters being placed in local communities or even a former nursing home

Happy Thanksgiving to all on Staten Island.

On Thanksgiving, we give thanks for all the blessing in our lives and the greatness of America.

And, [Friday] we will join the many who will be shaking off their Thanksgiving meal by gathering at the Midland Beach Splaza to participate in the “Trump Dance.”

The dance is taking on a life of its own, in large part because it’s fun! So, let’s have a little fun and meet at the Splaza to give a Staten Island twist to the Trump Dance

If you are available and looking for a reprieve from Black Friday shopping, feel free to join us in continuing to give thanks.

A Statement from Borough President Vito Fossella on Mayor Adams’ Approach to Migrant Criminals

When the migrant crisis started years ago, we were among the first to call it for what it is: an unsustainable disaster. Criminals flocked here, taxpayer funded migrant shelters were littered across New York City, and the world was turned upside down, with the rule of law being thrown out of the window.

Finally, we are seeing the tide turn. We applaud Mayor Adams for this move and agreeing to work with the Federal government to get our city and country back on the right track. Frankly, we encourage more elected officials to follow suit.
