Editor’s note: We have previously covered the Day Of Service for MLK Day last year organized by Assemblymember Charles Fall and State Senator Scarcella-Spanton.
From the UJA Federation:
Volunteers received and sorted donations of school and art/craft supplies, toiletries and baby items, and packed them along with MLK educational material to be distributed to senior centers, cornerstones, and after schools in our community. Long term volunteering initiative will be introduced to attendees during the event.
UJA had 115 volunteers at this Staten Island JCC project.
New Yorkers participated in UJA-Federation of New York’s annual MLK Day of Service. Over 40 service projects with 26 partner organizations throughout the five boroughs, Westchester, and Long Island assisted people in need on Sunday, January 19 and Monday, January 20.
