BP Fossella to Honor Emergency Service Heroes at 32nd Annual EMS Breakfast
We covered this event last year presented by the borough president during National EMS Week.  As we’ve discussed in the past, pay parity for FDNY EMS workers is causing real issues in hiring and retention, which is likely to lead to even longer response times as people are promoted outof EMS and aren’t being replaced.  We’ll be revisiting that issue in the next few weeks with a discussion with EMSPAC and Cm Morano of Staten Island.  The photos in the below slideshow were taken by our photographer, Sean Fitzpatrick:
Staten Island, NY – Borough President Vito Fossella and the Staten Island EMS Task Force proudly honored emergency technicians and paramedics for their work saving Staten Islanders’ lives during the annual EMS Breakfast and Awards Ceremony on Monday, May 18th at 9:30 AM at the Hilton Garden Inn.
The Borough President’s annual EMS Breakfast honors EMT’s, paramedics, emergency service instructors and students for their heroic, life-saving work caring for Staten Islanders in dire medical need.
Following the breakfast, Borough President Fossella will present awards to several outstanding emergency medical service heroes who have given their all in service to the people of Staten Island.
