For Staten Island Residents, Non-Profits Seeking Funding From City Council, Understanding of Budgeting Process

Editor’s note: Senator Gillibrand had recently shared information about the effects that the new budget is going to have on senior communities and other low-income New Yorkers.  Senator Schumer detailed some of the detrimental effects that the OBBBA was likely to have.  The student loan experts helping New Yorkers also spoke about the effects of this national Bill.  Check back over the weekend, as you’ll find our article and video about the City’s participatory budgeting and borough assemblies to debate and discuss new ways to use the budget to help real New Yorkers on the ground.

This training will walk through the New York City Council’s discretionary funding process, important timelines, and best practices for submitting a FY27 discretionary funding application.

Whether your organization is new to Council funding or just needs a refresher, this session will provide practical guidance to help you prepare for the upcoming budget cycle.
