Strike Up the Band: BP Fossella Invites Local Staten Island Bands and Musical Acts to Rock the Parks in the Sounds of Summer Concert Series

Editor’s note: We covered the announcement of last year’s summer concert lineup from the borough presidents office. This series is a great way for local bands to grow their following along Island residents.

Staten Island, NY — Borough President Vito Fossella is welcoming any interested local Staten Island musical talents and performers to be considered for the upcoming Sounds of Summer Concert Series.
For more than 30 years, the Borough President’s Office has hosted local talents for its Sounds of Summer Concert Series, bringing musical performances to our parks and green spaces one night each week during the summer for Staten Islanders to enjoy.
We are thankful and appreciate several local bands that return every year to perform. Now, BP Fossella is letting Staten Island know that there is room for additional talents to join the lineup and take the summer stage.
“Our summers here on Staten Island are made all the better by the dedication of our local talents, who come to our beautiful parks every week to light up the night and put on a show for our residents to enjoy. And, there is always room for more,” Borough President Fossella said. “We encourage any and all local talents who are interested, and might have not yet have had the chance, to donate your time to perform for our neighbors at a park in our Borough.”
The upcoming 2026 Sounds of Summer Concert Series will kick off with a special 4th of July performance celebrating our nation’s 250th anniversary.
Any and all local talents who are interested in joining the Sounds of Summer Concert Series can do so by sending videos, CDs, and social media accounts to the Borough President’s Special Events Department: Renee Sarno at rsarno@statenislandusa.com, and Lauren Lefkowitz at llefkowitz@statenislandusa.com.
We are grateful to our homegrown musicians who are willing to volunteer their time and talent to entertain Staten Islanders. Hundreds of Staten Islanders come out to attend the summer concert series, and we want to give an opportunity to some new bands to showcase their talents in front of our local crowds.
