Bergen Point Festival in Bayonne This Saturday; PC Law Firm Expansion Ribbon Cutting
Bergen Point Festival Set for Bayonne on Saturday, October 18
Editor’s note: Readers may remember the recent HealthFest 2025 a few weeks ago, which featured CPR training for laypersons, awesome concession style healthy foods, and much more. This event was also attended by CSI nursing students.
The City of Bayonne Urban Enterprise Zone (UEZ) and the Bergen Point merchants announced that the 2025 Bergen Point Fall Festival is scheduled for Saturday, October 18, 2025, in Bayonne from 12:00 noon to 6:00 p.m. The event will include free live musical entertainment, free inflatables, balloon sculpture, face-painting, a caricaturist, a dog costume contest, a zip line, great food, and wonderful shopping opportunities by our Bergen Point merchants and specialty vendors.
UEZ Coordinator Jacqueline Farber said, “This festival is a wonderful event that brings attention to so many great businesses in Bergen Point and puts smiles on the faces of our attendees.” Ms. Farber continued, “Our goal is to make this event bigger and better each year.”
This annual festival of family fun takes place in the Bergen Point area located from 5th Street to Evergreen Street on Broadway. This event is close to the Bayonne Bridge, making it convenient for visitors from Staten Island. Residents of Staten Island are invited to walk or ride their bikes over the Bayonne Bridge to the festival. The event also provides new Bayonne residents the opportunity to experience fun times in our hometown and a chance to get to know our local merchants.
The entertainment schedule for the festival is as follows:
12:00 noon-12:30 p.m.: Opening Ceremony. The National Anthem will be performed by Artist Avenue. Scout Troop 27 will present the Flag Ceremony.
12:30 p.m. Dog Costume Contest. See information below.
1:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m.: Music by the Trevor B Power Group.
2:15 p.m.-3:15 p.m.: Music by the Dave “Doc” Watson Jazz Trio.
3:30 p.m.-4:30 p.m. Music by Breaktime (the band).
4:45 p.m. -6:00 p.m. Music by Crash Gordon and Debra Dynamite Rockabilly and Rock ‘N Roll Band.
Registration for the dog costume contest starts at 11:45 a.m. at the Cottage Street stage. Bring your dogs in their favorite costume. Prizes will be awarded to the first, second, and third place winners. There will be three trophies. The sponsors of the dog costume contest are our local animal clinics and hospitals, pet stores, and the UEZ.
The festival will feature shopping opportunities by the Bergen Point merchants and special vendors.
Bergen Point is the historic name for the southern end of Bayonne that is located near the Kill Van Kull.
The festival is presented by the Bayonne UEZ, Mayor Jimmy Davis, the City Council, and the City of Bayonne.

Mandelbaum Barrett PC Welcomes Bayonne Real Estate Attorney Linda J. Hockstein as Partner, Expanding Its Hudson County Footprint
Mandelbaum Barrett PC, a full-service law firm headquartered in Roseland, NJ, has announced that Linda J. Hockstein, a Bayonne real estate attorney and founder of Hockstein Law, has joined the firm as a partner and will continue to work out of her Bayonne office located at 660 Broadway.

On October 15, representatives of the Mandelbaum Barrett PC law firm and City officials held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the firm’s expansion to Bayonne. Bayonne real estate attorney Linda J. Hockstein has merged her practice with the firm and is now a partner in Mandelbaum Barrett PC.
Founded in Newark in 1930, the firm is headquartered in Roseland, N.J., and has offices in New Jersey, New York, Florida, and Colorado. Mandelbaum Barrett describes itself as having “a full-service approach to legal services.”
Among the firm’s numerous practice areas are Real Estate, Land Use/Zoning, Trusts & Wills, Elder Law, Family Law, Personal Injury and Special Needs. Linda J. Hockstein is the fourth generation of her family to work in Bayonne. Her great-grandfather, Joseph Hockstein, built the DeWitt Theater, which stood for five decades at 25th Street and Broadway. Her grandfather, Ben Hockstein, founded an insurance agency, which her father, Donald Hockstein, continued at 660 Broadway, the site of today’s law office.
