Staten Islander News Organization appreciates readers’ support, whether in the form of donated funds or contributed writings, photos, artwork, or videos!* Staten Islander brings the people of Staten Island a voice of their own, and has successfully created a new niche media outlet over the last two years, a community media project that covers Staten Island.

StatenIslander.Org is Our Island’s [hyper]local Paper(less)™, bringing the important issues to the fore, giving our Islanders a platform for their voices to be heard. We are the No-Slant News™ and we do not take sides, but rather present all views, as well as the solid facts, and that’s it. Support honest journalism!

Note: The StatenIslander.Org News Service is NOT a registered or incorporated non-profit; this donation will NOT be eligible  as a deduction on your taxes.

*If you are seeking to contribute in the form of your creativity: You can leave a comment, write an editorial, write an article on a subject you love, send photos or video of news or other interesting stuff.

Donate to Assertive Kids Foundation

Assertive Kids provides clothing to Staten Island children in need, and also works with outside programs that provide clothing to adults, such as Catholic Charities of Staten Island, Salvation Army Port Richmond, Dress For Success, The 7th Day Adventist Church. This charity has a Guidestar Rating of platinum. Everything AKF does is fully transparent. Their motto is, “We aim to make a lot with a little” and they have certainly done so, providing Staten Island, NYC, and metro Northern NJ children with over 60,000 worth of beautiful clothing in the last year.

Assertive Kids also  advocates for the homeless, including US Armed Forces Veterans who have fallen on hard times. Ageism is another of its areas of concentration; no one should be barred from life activities because they’ve been around a while. No shame in being on Earth for a while!

This Foundation  also focuses on helping children, adolescents, and adults acquire assertiveness skills to better help them deal with adversity.

The Assertive Kids Foundation is a registered 501(c)3 charity; your donations to this nonprofit are fully tax deductible.

Through the Fallen First Responder Home Program, Tunnel to Towers aims to pay off the mortgages of fallen law enforcement officers and firefighters who lose their lives in the line of duty, or to 9/11 related illness, and leave behind young children.

The Gold Star Family Home Program, launched in September 2018, honors the legacy of those who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our country. The Foundation will provide a mortgage-free home to surviving spouses with young children.

Donate to Project Hospitality

Project Hospitality has a 30 year history of serving the needs of the poor, hungry and homeless residents of Staten Island, New York. It is the mission of Project Hospitality to reach out to community members who are hungry, homeless or otherwise in need, in order to work with them to achieve their self-sufficiency.

PH seeks to realize its mission by advocating for those in need as well as providing a comprehensive continuum of care that provides the essentials of food, clothing and shelter enhanced by health and mental health services, substance abuse treatment, HIV prevention and care, domestic violence education and services, immigrant services, vocational training, transitional and permanent housing, legal and financial services and services for at-risk youth.

The charity addresses the needs of more than 26,000 impoverished and marginalized individuals annually. While the need for PH’s services was already great and increasing during difficult economic times, the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy has left thousands of Staten Islanders, many of whom were barely getting by beforehand, with loss of property, homes and jobs, swelling the numbers of people in need of both the emergency and long term supports provided by Project Hospitality.
