Stop & Shop to Host One-Day Career Fair Across 18 Stores in Queens, Staten Island, Brooklyn, and Nassau County This Saturday

 

On-the-spot interviews available for multiple roles, shifts, and departments

Are the Staten Island locations looking to fill many positions, and are they seasonal or year-round positions?

The Staten Island locations are hiring for both seasonal and year-round opportunities. Available roles include both part-time and full-time positions across the stores.

Do the Staten Island locations have openings for management positions, or are those filled by promotions from other employees already in the company?

Yes, there are some management opportunities available at Staten Island locations in addition to other open positions. While we are proud to promote from within and provide advancement opportunities for our associates, we also welcome qualified external candidates interested in management roles to attend the hiring event and learn more about available opportunities.

Do you have an approximate number of positions that are available on the island?

We do not have a specific hiring target for each Staten Island location. Our goal is to fill all open positions, and we are actively seeking qualified candidates for a variety of roles.

Is pre-registration required or recommended for an on-the-spot interview? How many interviews do they have time for that day?

No pre-registration is required. Candidates can simply arrive at their preferred location, complete a quick sign-up process in-store, and receive an interview that day. We have planned the event so that everyone who attends will have the opportunity to interview; no one who shows up will be turned away without an interview.

If there is anything else Staten Islanders should know to prepare in advance or should bring with them, please let me know.

Staten Island, NY (July 2, 2026) – Stop & Shop will host a one-day career fair on Saturday, July 11, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 18 store locations across Brooklyn (2), Staten Island (5), Queens (10), and Nassau County (1).

On-the-spot interviews will be conducted for both full-time and part-time positions across departments, including bakery, deli, grocery, seafood, and produce. Additional openings are available for front-end courtesy clerks, overnight crews, cashiers, porters, and baggers.

Applicants must be at least 16 years old for roles such as cashier, bagger, and clerk positions in produce, bakery, floral, and grocery. All other positions require candidates to be at least 18 years old.

For more than 100 years, Stop & Shop has invested in its associates through on-the-job training, cross-functional opportunities, mentoring, and tuition reimbursement for business- and food industry-related education. Today, 80% of full-time associates began working part-time, and more than 5,000 associates have been with the company for 25 years or more.
