The Parks & Recreation Committee reviews and advocates for all matters concerning District parks and recreation areas.

This month’s agenda includes presentations and opportunity for Q&A with the following speakers:

Governors Island leadership will share a presentation on their Spring/Summer program highlights, including Athletic Field usage, public art displays, and access to open green space.

Hi-Res Abolitionist Place

With community input, the City renamed Willoughby Square as Abolitionist Place, to commemorate the 19th century abolitionist movement and local Underground Railroad connections. The Abolitionist Place public space project intends to bring enhanced green space and community amenities to Downtown Brooklyn. EDCNYC will share updates on progress.
