Press Release: 102nd Annual Memorial Day Parade And Patriotic Convoy Scheduled For May 31st

The ONLY Memorial Day Parade in NY City is set to go
James Haynes, CEO of USIVO said, ”This year’s parade is designed to bring awareness to the real meaning of Memorial Day and to remember our comrades as we begin to emerge from the virus scourge that affected us all for the past year.
The parade will be held on Monday, May 31st stepping off at Noon. from the intersection of Forest Avenue and Hart Boulevard. The parade and convoy ends near Forest Avenue Shoppers Town (Livermore Ave.).
The Grand Marshal is Desert Storm veteran Colonel Kathleen A. Malone, a reservist with the US Army Nurse Corps and a nurse at the VA hospital in Brooklyn.
This year honors the 30th anniversary of Operation Desert Storm and all Gulf War veterans.

US Coast Guard cutter Escanaba rescues Dorchester survivors.
Renee Rosati of Westerleigh was selected as this year’s Miss USIVO.
This year’s Parade Chaplain is Fr. Louis Jerome of St. Charles R.C. Church in Oakwood. The parade will be live-streamed on the Paramount Theatre Facebook site
