Planned NYC Parks Cleanups To Cause Temporary Road Closures On Staten Island
You may have noticed that Rockland Avenue was closed on Wednesday, November 3rd, between 10am and 2pm. This was after the morning rush and before the afternoon congestion on Rockland Avenue, luckily for local drivers.
This was among the first of these cleanups, which require closure of the road, but there will be several more this season.
According to a NYC Parks Department notice, “NYC Parks conducts seasonal perimeter cleanups throughout the borough’s largest parks to remove litter, assist with debris removal and address any immediate tree concerns. Due to safety concerns, the roadways surrounding the park perimeters will be closed for the cleanups.”
