NYC DOT Launches Bronx E-Scooter Pilot Phase 2 Expansion

NYC Department of Transportation (NYC DOT) Commissioner Ydanis Rodriguez announced the launch of the Bronx e-scooter pilot’s second phase. Under Phase 2, the pilot program will double its footprint in the eastern Bronx, expanding into neighborhoods like Parkchester, Castle Hill, Country Club, and Throggs Neck.

The expansion will bring important micromobility connections to additional stops on the 6 train as well as the NYC Ferry at both the Soundview Ferry Terminal and Ferry Point Park Terminal. Program operators Bird, Lime, and Veo will work to double the scooter fleet size from 3,000 to 6,000.
