Event Honors Young Staten Island Native
The second annual 18 for #18 Taylor J. Richelsen Memorial Golf Tournament, takes place this Friday at Silver Lake Golf Course. The tournament raises money in honor of Staten Island native Taylor Richelsen, who died at the age of 12 of a fatal brain bleed caused by a vascular abnormality. The tournament will raise much-needed funds for the Taylor J. Richelsen Chair of Research which will be awarded at the Brain Aneurysm Foundation’s Research Grant Symposium on September 15, 2022
WHAT: The 2nd Annual 18 for #18 Taylor J. Richelsen Memorial Golf Tournament will raise funds for brain aneurysm research. The event includes a Shot Gun Start and Barbeque Reception. The inaugural tournament in 2021 generated $25,000 in support of the Brain Aneurysm Foundation’s vital research initiatives.
WHY: Staten Island native, honor student, artist, musician and an athlete who wore the number 18 on his hockey jersey, Taylor Richelsen died at the age of 12 of a fatal brain bleed caused by a vascular abnormality. The tournament will raise much-needed funds for the Taylor J. Richelsen Chair of Research which will be awarded at the Brain Aneurysm Foundation’s Research Grant Symposium on September 15, 2022.
