A Staged Reading of Mart Crowley’s “The Boys in the Band”
September 3rd at 2:00pm–5:30pm
Groundbreaking for its portrayal of gay life, Mart Crowley’s 1968 play is brought to life on the front lawn in this staged reading directed by Ken Tirado with the assistance of Gabrielle Canci.
Presented as a benefit performance for the Pride Center of New York and the Alice Austen House.

The Alice Austen House is a national landmark located in Staten Island, and is operated by the Friends of Alice Austen House, and owned by the NYC Department of Parks and Recreation. The museum is open to the public, where the photographs of Alice Austen are on display, and there are also group tours and special events.
