Annual Don’t Walk By Homeless Outreach Event Organized By Rescue Alliance NYC To Occur This Saturday
Nearly 70,000 people in New York City (including more than 20,000 children) are homeless. This Saturday, February 18 is “Don’t Walk By,” the annual outreach event designed to help unhoused New Yorkers – organized by City Relief, The Salvation Army Greater New York Division, The Bowery Mission and Hope for New York.
Volunteers have assisted over 10,000 unhoused New Yorkers over the years – canvassing the streets of Manhattan, inviting them back to shelters for a hot meal, clothing, medical assistance and overall human support. A recent addition to their efforts is a partnership with Uber that provides free rides to shelter locations throughout the day giving them safe and warm transportation.
