Share

Enjoy fine dining and the company of Opera lovers!   Tuesday, March 7 from 6 to 9:30 pm  $90 members, $100 non-members

Featuring a delicious buffet dinner with wine, soft drinks and coffee; a video presentation by Lou Barrella; and Special Guest Soprano Justyna Giermola Predko.

Operatic sopranos are occasionally depicted as flamboyant “prima-donnas” and sometimes that is correct. Lou’s video segments will present celebrated sopranos who – either by personality or character interpretation – exhibit exaggerated behavior – and yes, extravagant displays of vocalism. This presentation will entertain and inspire one and all!

About the guest soprano

Born in Poland, soprano Justyna Giermola Predko brings a traditional European flavor to opera with a layered, luxuriant voice and striking beauty. Her voice has been described as “rich and velvety” which has led her to sing many of Puccini’s heroines. She has sung both Musetta and Mimi in La Boheme and the title roles in Tosca, Manon Lescaut and Suor Angelica. Other roles include Micaela in Carmen, Nedda in I Pagliacci, Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni, Santuzza in Cavalleria Rusticana, Mother and Hansel in Hansel and Gretel, Jadwiga in the Polish Opera Straszny Dwor (Haunted Manor), Aldonza in Man of La Mancha, Auretta in Mozart’s L’oca del Cairo, and Violetta in La Traviata. Her performances have led her to venues in NYC at Lincoln Center, Saint Patrick’s Cathedral and Carnegie Hall. Nationally, she has sung in Ohio, Arizona, California, Florida, North Carolina, Louisiana, Colorado and Minnesota and internationally in Spain, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Germany and Austria.
