Donate Needed Pantry Items, Additional Essentials For Struggling Military Families At Fort Wadsworth, Other Locations: BP Fossella
Borough President’s Office Collecting Donations to Help Military Families
Staten Island, NY – Borough President Vito Fossella is partnering once again with Blue Star Families this winter for a “Stock the Pantry Drive” to bring food and other items to help nearly 300 military families living at Fort Wadsworth who may be struggling with the cost of living.
The “Stock the Pantry Drive” calls for donations of diapers, baby wipes, frozen fruit and vegetables, name brand cereal, pancake mix, peanut butter, pasta sauce, reusable grocery bags, and healthy kids’ snacks.
“Many of our military families living on Fort Wadsworth struggle to make ends meet,” said Borough President Vito Fossella. “Providing food to help these families along is the least we can do to honor their service. We invite Staten Islanders to consider making a donation to help support these families through the winter.”
Donations can be dropped off at Borough Hall (10 Richmond Terrace) and Joyce’s Tavern (3823 Richmond Avenue) through Friday, February 23rd.
Generous citizens interested in donating can call 718-816-2133 for more information.
