Working To Bridge Generational Gap In Italian-American Community: Italian-American Future Leaders Conference
Working to bridge the generational gap within the Italian American Community
The Florida Panthers arena became the epicenter of inspiration and cultural connection last weekend as the Italian American Future Leaders (IAFL), a not-for-profit organization, hosted its second annual conference at the Amerant Bank Arena in Sunrise, Florida.
Picture this: A gathering of 180 young adults, aged 19 to 35, forming a nationwide collective with a shared mission to bridge the generational gap within the Italian-American community.
In attendance from Jan. 12 to 14 were several professional Italian-American mentors including Chairman and Founder of IAFL and Italian Cultural Foundation Board member, John Viola; The Italian Cultural Foundation at Casa Belvedere Founder and President, Gina Biancardi; and VP of Operations and Programming, James Paone.
Gina took the stage as a panel speaker, instilling empowerment in our future “Guardians of Culture” and urging them to take action to move our beloved culture forward.
Gina was joined by (from left) Marianna Gatto, Director of the Italian American Museum of Los Angeles, and Marie Palladino, Head of Education for the Italian American Museum in New York City
Also in attendance were young members of the Italian Cultural Foundation at Casa Belvedere: Nicholas D’Amato Jr. and Matthew Perfetto.
Imagine the energy as these young minds, alongside their peers from various related organizations across the country, created a dynamic mix of proud and passionate Italian-Americans.
But it wasn’t all serious business. IAFL members embraced their roots through engaging activities like Italian-American Trivia, crafting impactful social media posts, and, of course, having a blast at various mixers, including watching the New Jersey Devils play against the Florida Panthers.
The conference wasn’t just an event; it was a celebration of heritage, a platform for promise, and a testament to the vitality of the Italian-American spirit.
