Bishop Lamor Whitehead, often referred to in the media as the ‘Bling Bishop’ spoke out today regarding the fatal shooting of the third suspect in the armed robbery at his church that occurred last year.

According to the NY Daily News , US Marshals in New Jersey were attempting to arrest Shamar Leggette in Monmouth Junction. Having been accused of armed robbery, he has been accused of having a gun during the attempted arrest. When he shot at the US Marshals there to arrest him, the Marshals returned fire, fatally shooting the suspect.

Bishop Whitehead visited the location where the shooting happened to speak about this issue, and later took to Instagram Live to speak about the robbery, as well as offer his condolences to the family. You can view the livestreamed video below:

While Bishop Whitehead appreciated the relentless efforts of the US Marshals and other law enforcement agencies to find the suspect, the bishop had completely forgiven him for the criminal act perpetrated against him and his congregation. He expressed that he does not harbor any malice to the suspect.

The bishop also mentioned that he has been completely vindicated in the case against him where he was accused of being the ‘mastermind’ or perpetrator of the robbery himself. All three suspects in the crime have been identified, including Mr. Leggette.  In the extended version of the video, posted to Facebook, he also mentions that the accusations against him have caused problems for his ministry, Leaders of Tomorrow International Ministry.

His exact words were, “I really want to thank everybody for just supporting me, and I’m just really heartbroken about… just my ministry. We have something special, and this robbery really has divided the ministry, and I pray that God send me, send the church a fresh wind.”

He thanks God for justice and vindication in the matter of being falsely accused in conspiring with the robbers, which, as he mentioned above, has caused issues for him and his congregation. He loves the people in his ministry, and he wants to continue to minister to them, giving his heart to the people in his church.

The original invitation is below:

Bishop Lamor Miller Whitehead will address the unfortunate killing of Shamar Leggette, the third suspect involved in the robbery during his live-streamed Sunday service on July 24th, 2022, at his Brooklyn, NY church.

The Bishop will express his gratitude to the U.S Marshals, as well as state and local police officers, for their relentless efforts in addressing this incident. He also extends his heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Shamar Legette.
