Here’s the Staten Islander News Organization’s latest video reel, entitled “Doggie Driving School: the Dos and Don’ts of Doggie Driving.” We hope you’ll enjoy and share the page.

While it may seem that Doggie Driving is a cinch because there are no doggie driving licenses issued by the Department of Motor Vehicles, there are distinct challenges every canine faces when driving a car or light truck.
See how many of these rules YOUR doggie follows when driving. Oh, your dog doesn’t drive? Are you serious? Too bad. It gives you a chance to take a break and sit back and lets your dog feel privileged at the opportunity while extending his territory from a few mere blocks to miles! Win, win!

Doggie Driving School: The Dos and Don’ts of Doggie Driving

1. Do Stop at the stop sign. Good doggie. That’s how it should be done.

2. Don’t drive around with your head out the window. (Tail is okay.)

3. Do put your turn signal on.  The canine setting the perfect example, again! Yes!

4. Don’t look backwards when you’re going forwards. (Instead use the mirrors to see behind your vehicle.)

5. Do accelerate slowly after a light or stop sign. This is the safe way to drive, doggie. You show ’em!

6. Don’t bark at other drivers. That is road rage! (Instead use the horn, but only when necessary.)
