GILLIBRAND STATEMENT ON SHOOTING AT TRUMP RALLY
“My thoughts are with former President Trump and all of those affected by this horrible act, and I’m grateful to law enforcement for their swift response. Political violence is completely unacceptable and has no place in American democracy.”
Malliotakis Statement on Attempted Assassination of President Donald Trump
(NEW YORK, NY) – Congresswoman Nicole Malliotakis (NY-11) released the following statement regarding the attempted assassination of President Donald Trump at [the] rally in Butler, PA:
“It is both shocking and heartbreaking that someone attempted to assassinate President Trump. In the process, innocent bystanders were also shot, including one who sadly succumbed to injuries.
“While we are still waiting to learn more about the shooter and how this horrifying act was able to occur, we are thankful for the Secret Service officers who ushered President Trump to safety and neutralized the situation in a matter of seconds. The way President Trump has been targeted and vilified has gone too far. This act of political violence and pure hatred is unacceptable.
“As Americans, we can disagree, but should respect opinions from across the political spectrum and engage in respectful dialogue about the important issues facing our country today. The attempted assassination of any political candidate is unacceptable and only further divides our nation.”
MAYOR ADAMS’ STATEMENT ON INCIDENT INVOLVING FORMER PRESIDENT TRUMP IN PENNSYLVANIA
NEW YORK – New York City Mayor Eric Adams released the following statement after an incident took place at a Trump rally in Butler, Pennsylvania involving former President Donald Trump:
“The events that unfolded at today’s rally in Pennsylvania are horrific. No matter our disagreements, we must all agree that violence of any kind is unacceptable. I am praying for the safety of former President Trump and anyone else who may have been injured in the attack in the incident today.
“While we continue to gather more information, we will be surging officers to certain sites across the five boroughs.”
By now, the world knows that the shooting on Saturday in Butler, PA was an assassination attempt on President Donald J. Trump. Thank God he survived the brutal and disgusting attack.
Tragically, the assassin took the life of an innocent father and gravely injured others.
We will continue to pray for President Trump, the victims and their families, as well as the United States of America.
What the world does not know is how a 20-year-old was able to carry an assault rifle in plain view, get situated on a rooftop, be seen by others who reported the gunman, and fire a number of shots less than 150 yards from President Trump. That is what we all need to know, and soon.
Statement from President Joe Biden
I have been briefed on the shooting at Donald Trump’s rally in Pennsylvania.
I’m grateful to hear that he’s safe and doing well. I’m praying for him and his family and for all those who were at the rally, as we await further information.
Jill and I are grateful to the Secret Service for getting him to safety. There’s no place for this kind of violence in America. We must unite as one nation to condemn it.

What should they have done? Acting too out-of-bounds and the attendees could have been shot themselves.
Communicating with the crowd was something that the local police out there did not do so well.
I think that one cop flubbed it. He should have stayed up there and approached the guy. In his interview he gave it away that he failed his duty.
If the guy up on the roof was so dangerous, why on Earth did the cop leave him up there then? I mean, it makes no sense.
There wasn’t a Sense of Urgency in hid actions. Not trying to fault the guy but that is the truth as it happened.

I remember my parents telling me what happened after 9/11.
I was just a kid in the years after, I wasn’t even born yet.
So I hear how politics became raw hate against Muslim people because some fanatics in the desert or under a mountain or something decided to blow up buildings using idiots who were not very devout Muslims, out drinking,having sex with prostitutes, doing haram stuff.
It was all very questionable. But from my understanding, the response was also quite unusual and Muslim people were unfairly targeted as a result.
In my own life I didn’t experience this because I think people realized Muslim people here are not the ones like the ones who did 9/11 to be blunt. It’s like the loony Christians who blow up abortion centers. I’d be really dense to think all Christians would, or might even approve of that.
