Tuesday, Sept. 10 at 7 PM on the rear patio

Free for members, $10 donation for non-members

“The Good, the Bad and the Ugly” (Il buono, il brutto, il cattivo, literally “The good, the ugly, the bad”) is a 1966 Italian spaghetti Western film directed by Sergio Leone and starring Clint Eastwood as “the Good,” Lee Van Cleef as “the Bad” and Eli Wallach as “the Ugly.” Parts of the movie were filmed in Italy.

The movie is elevated by the iconic score of Italian composer Ennio Morricone. Discover how Morricone’s unforgettable music, including the legendary main theme, remains one of the most influential film scores in cinematic history. If it rains, the movie will be shown indoors in the second floor Galleria.

Special event: Visit by author Anastasia Rubis, author of ‘Oriana’

Wednesday, Sept. 18 at 7 pm

Join us for a lively conversation with author Anastasia Rubis about Italy’s most famous journalist, Oriana Fallaci. Learn about Oriana’s courageous career rise to become “the greatest interviewer of her day,” her true love with Greek hero Alexander Panagoulis – and her one regret.

“Oriana” is the first biographical novel about the brilliant and fearless Italian journalist whom Christiane Amanpour has called her role model, and who holds a place alongside Mike Wallace and Barbara Walters as a master interviewer. It is the story of a trailblazer who broke through the glass ceiling of journalism, a woman who wasn’t afraid to speak truth to power and who revolutionized her field, all while struggling to carve out a space for love and family.

The author visit will be moderated by Casa’s book club coordinator, Ann Marie Cicero. Rubis will sign books at the event, and also have the book available for purchase. Drinks and concessions will be sold. Attendees are invited to send questions for the author to [email protected].
