BP Fossella, SIEDC President & CEO Cusick, SI Chamber President & CEO Baran to Announce Continuation of Boroughwide Veterans Discount Program with Local Businesses

Editor’s note: Last year the Borough President and Chamber of Commerce announced an expansion to the veteran’s discount program for local businesses.  This helps local community oriented companies to give back to the veterans in the area.

Staten Island, NY – Over 11,000 veterans call Staten Island their home. To help alleviate costs associated with inflation for those who have dedicated themselves in service to our country, Borough President Vito Fossella, Staten Island Economic Development Corporation (SIEDC) President and CEO Michael Cusick, and Staten Island Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Linda Baran will announce the continuation of the Staten Island Veterans (VETS) Discount Program with local businesses. The announcement will take place at a press conference at David & Co. Menswear, the latest business to join the program, in Charleston on Tuesday, November 12th at 11:00 AM.
The VETS Discount Program, which started 14 years ago under then-Assemblymember Michael Cusick, is a supportive resource in which participating Staten Island businesses provide various deductions on goods and services for veterans with discount cards. To date, over 200 local businesses have joined.
Veterans interested in receiving a discount card and businesses seeking to join the program can contact SIEDC VP of Membership & Development Jodi Guagliardo at 718-477-1400, ext. 827 or [email protected].
