Staten Island Food Pantry Alert: SI Hunger Task Force Legislative Forum February 21st – All Encouraged To Participate

The following was released by the Hunger Task Force shortly following their January legislative planning meeting.  Unfortunately, not everyone was able to participate due to technical issues with the link and being unable to send a new link quickly enough:

We are truly sorry that the meeting link for last week’s meeting was not functioning. We tried to correct the situation but our mail handler would not send out the correction due to spamming rules.

We postponed elections of leadership until the February meeting, a notice will be sent with nominations. A new link for 2025 meetings will be sent shortly. Thank you for your understanding and commitment to the Hunger Task Force. Stay tuned for more communications!

Following was released prior to the above meeting: 

There was to be a planning meeting for the Hunger Task Force’s Annual Legislative Forum Friday, January 10th, 2025 at 3:00 PM Via Zoom. Anyone who is interested in being part of this process is welcome and we encourage you to participate.

In addition to this, we would like to apologize for the troubles we had with our monthly meeting this past Monday. There were technical issues with Zoom that were not apparent until the meeting time, and there was no way to disseminate a new meeting link with such short notice. We will be holding our elections at the February monthly meeting and continuing with business as usual following that.

There will also be a google form distributed later this week to collect pantry data for 2024, so that we can have the data compiled and set ahead of our February legislative forum. Thanks!

The SIHTF Food For All Committee would like to invite you all to participate in our legislative annual Legislative forum. This event will be a hybrid event taking place on February 21st 2025 at 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM. We are finalizing details on our physical location for the event, and we will be offering access via Zoom as well. More details will be presented as we finalize arrangements such as: Guest Speakers, Agenda, Location, and Zoom link. Please keep this time open to participate and look out for emails coming in the coming days and weeks about our finalized arrangements. We hope to have many of you participate.

We at the SIHTF Data committee are asking once again for your pantry service statistics. We are aiming to have data collected and compiled within the next month in order to present our 2024 data at the Legislative Forum to be held in February.
