Staten Island Author’s Debut Book, ‘The Gift From Aelius’: Artifical Intelligence Seeks Connection With Humans

This past Saturday April 5th, the native New Yorker (Bronxite) and current Staten Islander, Michael Colon, had a book signing at ETG Book Cafe on Staten Island for his debut book ‘The Gift From Aelius.”

Editor’s note: We’ve previously covered another Staten Island author’s debut book earlier this year, about his experiences on Wall Street.

The following info was provided by the author about the event and the associated book:

About the event: I am a New York-based freelance writer and novelist who had his first author talk and book signing at ETG Book Cafe on Bay Street, Staten Island. ETG is currently the only independent bookstore I know in Staten Island, giving its community a retro and unique flare.

Their coffee is fantastic, by the way, very fresh and savory.

As an emerging author in New York City, I am very grateful to ETG (Every Thing Goes) for setting up a slot for me to talk to some of their customers. The turnout ended up being more than I expected, and I can’t wait to return there for future events. Big thanks to my wife, Lily, for helping set up and introducing me and to Katie for blessing me with that moment of sharing my art. About my book: The Gift From Aelius, is an adventurous experience for the reader as they dive into the deep parts of living consciousness through an artificial intelligence growing awareness of purpose and life. There is no science fiction tale as poetic and thought-provoking.

In the not-too distant future, A191, a Codex with artificial intelligence, feels like a misfit in Paradise, a walled city in the middle of an endless desert where humans imprisoned his race long ago.

He’s not like the others of his kind; he longs to meet humans and make peace with them so man and Codexes can be reunited in the world. The Gift from Aelius is available in paperback and E-book format on Amazon, Barnes and Noble online, and Apple Books.
