Community Comes Together for the Holidays at Straight Razor Barbershop

Editor’s note: Regarding previous events by this barber shop:  “This is the first time we have done a charity event. This business is now under new management.”

Toys can be donated up until December 25th, but for the hospital Pediatric Unit, they must be received by end of day on the 22nd to be delivered on the 23rd. We’ll be updating readers with photos and videos after from the donation organizations, if available.

This holiday season, Straight Razor Barbershop is leading a heartwarming initiative that embodies the spirit of giving while encouraging community involvement. The barbershop, located at 1673 Richmond Road, is inviting residents to participate in a special toy donation drive, making it easier than ever to spread joy and support families in need.

From now up until Christmas Day [the 22nd for delivery to the hospital for donation],  participants who bring a new toy for donation will receive 50% off all haircuts. The collected toys will be distributed to local charities, including the Richmond University Pediatric Unit, ensuring that hospitalized children receive a special gift, and to Goodwill, which will channel these donations to families in need this season.

Participants can drop off toys at the barbershop during the hours of 10 AM to 9 PM leading up to Christmas.

In addition to the toy drive, Straight Razor Barbershop is hosting a festive event on Christmas Day, offering free haircuts for children from 4 PM to 8 PM. Children attending this event will have the delightful opportunity to meet Santa Claus, making it a memorable experience for families.

“This is the season to give, and it’s important to set an example for our generation, illustrating how compassion, generosity, and true leadership can create a warmer, more connected community for everyone”, said Sav,  owner of Straight Razor Barbershop.

“We are giving back because it’s something that was placed on our hearts; we understand that the holidays can be a challenging time for many, and we want to ensure that no child feels forgotten,” said organizer Natesha Anderson.

The barbershop team believes that by coming together to give back, they can help foster a sense of unity in Staten Island.

Join the barbershop in this inspirational effort to give back this holiday season and make a lasting impact. Together, we can create a magical Christmas experience for everyone!
