STAR 99.1, Fellowship Home Loans Grant Christmas Wishes to Two Local Families
Editor’s note: After the start of the holiday season last year, we published Star 99.1’s call for nominations for families that wanted to be a part of this program and nominate someone they cared about to be the recipient of this Christmas Joy this year. Check the link below to learn about the wish for a family reunion that was granted in addition to the below described bedroom set.
SOMERSET, N.J. — STAR 99.1 partnered with Mike and Brian of Fellowship Home Loans to grant Christmas wishes to two local families through the station’s annual Christmas Wish program.
Each year, the station calls for listeners to submit a Christmas wish for themselves or to nominate someone they know. In 2025, the station received more than 200 submissions.
One nominee, Allison, was forced to move her family of two girls, 13 and 6, in with her parents who suffer from dementia and Alzheimer’s disease.
“Once we moved in with my parents, there was no space left,” Allison said. “I said to my daughter, who’s the oldest, ‘You get the bedroom. Addy and I will sleep on the futon [in the living room].’”
That solution worked until Allison received a call from her daughter’s school saying Addy needed her own space. Allison took DoorDash orders in an effort to save money for a bunk bed, but the goal proved difficult to achieve on her own.
Through STAR 99.1’s Christmas Wish, powered by Fellowship Home Loans, Allison and her family were gifted bunk beds as well as some additional financial support to help create a cozy bedroom for her daughters.
“One of the most important times of the year for STAR 99.1 is Christmas” said Matt Stockman, brand director for STAR 99.1. “We love being a part of the community of believers in New Jersey and New York celebrating the season and consider it a high privilege to partner with Mike and Brian of Fellowship Home Loans to be able to use our platform to bless others in our community who are in need.”
