Learn To Ride A Motorcycle Safely On CSI Campus – Free Class Includes Riding A Cycle
Motorcycle Safety School Invites the Public to “Ride a Motorcycle…For Free!” at College of Staten Island
We met with representatives from the Staten Island location of the Motorcycle Safety School to discuss safety when riding a motorcycle. The class next Saturday will give interested people a primer on the basics, and it can help those trying to decide whether to buy a motorcycle or not the information they need to make an informed choice. There is a special license and insurance required in the state of New York in order to ride a motorcycle (or any vehicle that goes above a speed of 35mph). Learn more below about the training course and the state’s requirements:
Staten Island, NY — Ever wondered what it’s like to ride a motorcycle? Motorcycle Safety School (MSS) is giving Staten Islanders a chance to find out—for free.
On Saturday, March 14, 2026, Motorcycle Safety School will host a free 30-minute beginner motorcycle riding experience at the College of Staten Island, offering participants a hands-on introduction to the basics of safely operating a motorcycle. No prior riding experience is required, and motorcycles are provided.
Unlike a demonstration or lecture, participants will actually be riding under the guidance of professional instructors trained to introduce new riders to proper motorcycle control and safety fundamentals in a controlled environment.
“This event is designed for people who have always been curious about motorcycling but never had the opportunity to try it,” said Ed McGarry, Site Manager at Motorcycle Safety School. “It’s a fun, low-pressure way to experience riding while learning the correct and safe way to do it.”
The event is open to the public, with advance registration encouraged due to limited availability.
Participants will receive basic instruction and hands-on riding time with professional oversight. Safety protocols will be followed throughout the event.
