Reed Leviti is an artist living in the NYC Metro area. This comic series entitled "The Fine Print," Reed explores the humor of real life by taking a fresh look at the ordinary and obvious. With a degree in design from a prestiged Manhattan art program, Reed has worked in many areas of graphic design over his career. Reed's comic strips for "The Fine Print" range in topic and style, but the humor runs throughout. Reed Leviti explores the use of AI-assisted graphic design, utilizing Google Gemini for image generation. Reed has innovated the use of computer-assisted graphic design, from 8-bit machines to present-day AI. And, if you look Reed up anywhere, you won't find him. That's just a pseudonyn he chooses to go by.
I much appreciate the shout out to black history month. i see many peoples today be trying to erase our history now.
I got a tear in my eye reading the part about the girl saying all that.
like, what…..the girl is obviously confused a*. racism. it make no sense no how no way. its sickness. at least the laundry being separated make some sense bc of how we put clothes in different drawers, closets, etc. but for human beings that God made. sinful.
why would any group of people want to start to separate other people? sin.
we looking at a child and her mind viewing the sick world of earth.
human slavery never ended
ummm explain??
Well, contrary to what some say, President Trump is not a racist. He is a Good Man. He picks sh-tty friends, though. But he’s good at goodbyes and firing ppl.
He needs to keep that going.
Who do you think needs firing? I am so oblivious swinging my wrench all day. I’, happier this way.
This comic rocks! Solid.
Enjoying the new ones each week. Also liking the other comics on the Islander. But why no comments on those? It’s weird how readers only flock to places where they see others commenting. Says something. Herd much?
Anyone who knows me knows I am no racist. I can’t even believe that is making a comeback. Don’t blame TV or the internet. Blame the parents.
Paulie, you got it all wrong!
They want to be HEARD.
It’s not that it’s about being part of any herd.
Why comment on a nonexistent thread?
You want more talk on those articles and comics? Then go start talking to yourself then.
Maybe we’ll join you. That is, if listening to you talk to yourself sound slike any fun. HAHA
I for one don’t bother writing something that no one is going to respond to. I have never been the first to post.
I’m going to go and be first to comment on a bunch of news and I’ll see if anyone follows!
ahh.,..very cool…gets us thinking about racism. And how it all must seem from a Black child’s point-of-view. The innocence of her remark.
I like it. This is edgy. I really appreciate art that gets people thinking about everything. This isn’t my favorite so far but it is good bc it is teaching a lesson to the reader about history without being preachy. A few haven’t really been so funny but there were good like the flag comic. My family has multiple LEO in it so I love the flag. For me though it means freedom. Some people it means other things. To each their own. My favorite is probably yours too—the Looks-maxing guy with the hammer. I laugh thinking about it.
HAHAh Girl you got it. I printed out the Looksmaxer and put it up on the wall and got a frame for it. I really hate guys like that. Really a headache. Fun thinking they not give themselves a ****** headache.
That was my favorite also.
I did not know about those freaks.
Idk what to think tbh.
Scary. They needed a closer fam.
I find it embarrassing. It is def not masculine.
In fact the opposite. I think some of those look maxing guys are just possibly not so straight and they can’t dela and this is what results? A theory.

You, my friend,m are insane., But I like your style. That was a classic comic.
I liked the Dems versus GOP comic. That is my runner-up for Reed.
Doofus Maximus. That guy.
As for this week’s comic: **** YEAH!
I have friends of every color and nationality and religion.
All this talk covered on You Tube about social media conversations shows way too many people are now into a new sort of disgusting racist thinking.
I think what we all learned about judging a man by his character is what life is really for.
Guys like that are wayyyyyyyyyyyyyy worse for you if you happen to be a female. I can tell you from personal experience. I am what you would call a hot girl. Dudes like tha are everywhere. Chin up. Foolish talk. I doubt the hammer part is real. That is just fake news.
I liked this week comic. The kid totally misunderstands but “gets it” at the same time. This comic is why I started reading the news.
Reading is fundamental.
yes but reading this isn’t reading a book
especially the comments area which is really just like local social media
“. Fun thinking they not give themselves a ****** headache.”
huh?
I’ve never met a guy who, literally hits his head with hammer. But Ive met Jerk offs.
I hope this “Reed” character keeps this up. I’d be interested in signed prints if they are authentic and made of lasting ink.
I know my stuff.
Incidentally, my black and hispanic neighbors know they’re always invited to my BBQs and so of course they come.
Did you ever notice the bigots are usually the ones whose presence causes headaches and whose absences causes smiles?
Coincidence? You decide.
The ones who can’t stop blabbing and gossiping make my neck and shoulders hurt.
Also jaw pain. Fee l like I’m having a toothache. I swear this woman at my old job made me need tog et a tooth extracted. She talked and talked and my tooth started hurting and eventually I went to the dentist and he said I needed the tooth out. Coincidence?
Yup. That’s what makes this so good. The kid doesn’t quite understand slavery and segregation and Jim Crow exactly but she gets that it is at its core the same as the activity of separating laundry. Perhaps for the kid the mere suggestion or hint at something so verboten as separation based on color traits is what’s so offensive. I really wonder. And that’s not all. There’s also the fact that she is adamantly opposed to the use of words that were offensive to Black people. This kid seems to want nothing in their lives that have any reminiscences of anything like bigotry. Even for the laundry.
I don’t see it as innocence. I see it as agency. A new generation of kids who understand the power of words due to social media. The kid in the comic KNOWS throwing around words that once held evil power is still not quite right and there is still an air of discomfort for her. Rightly so!
That the adults don’t get it means they can’t really grasp what the big deal is. The power of words. There’s absolutely a generation gap. Is the little girl right? She doesn’t take issue with separating laundry. She is taking issue with the LANGUAGE.
Bold. Bias and bigotry must stop now. You think you’re better than someone else based on this or that? Go to church more. Go to confession. You are indeed sick. The other commenter is spot on. You need God in your life.
The growing racism is certainly not a positive development in recent years.
This comic shines a light on bigotry in all the forms that such a sad and twisted ideology can assume.
We should remember the good and the bad. That makes us stronger as a nation. Slavery led to slavery ending. The U.S.A. was one of the pioneers in that. So we had a bad institution, but we also ended slavery and through the time since then we’ve done a lot.
Are you Wise Willy and also 8 second Will?
what does that even mean
poignant
keep ’em comin’, Reid
