Staten Island Non-Profits, Others Awarded Grants For World Cup Fan Engagement, Participation Offerings

| Snug Harbor Cultural Center and Botanical Garden | World Cup Week at Snug Harbor | Snug Harbor Cultural Center & Botanical Garden, in partnership with Rooftop Films, will present a series of indoor screenings for the World Cup semifinals and final, creating a family-friendly viewing experience for Staten Island residents. |
| A Chance In Life, INC. | The Village World Cup Celebration | A Chance In Life will host a free, youth-led World Cup celebration featuring games, cultural activities, and community resources to engage and empower local families on Staten Island’s North Shore. |
| The Central Family Life Center, Inc | Staten Island North Shore World Cup Community Festival | Central Family Life Center will host two free North Shore events—an opening and final match celebration—featuring live 2026 FIFA World Cup screenings, youth activities, and cultural programming to unite Staten Island families and communities. |
Three Staten Island organizations received up to $15,000 for World Cup fan engagement activations through the ABNY World Cup for All Community Grant Program.
THREE STATEN ISLAND ORGANIZATIONS RECEIVE UP TO $15,000 FOR WORLD CUP FAN ENGAGEMENT THROUGH ABNY WORLD CUP FOR ALL COMMUNITY GRANT PROGRAM
This Grant Program Supports Community-Centered Fan Engagement and Youth Programming During the FIFA World Cup 2026TM
NEW YORK, NY – The Association for a Better New York (ABNY) is pleased to announce the recipients of its World Cup for All Community Grant Program, awarding a total of $250,000 to community-based nonprofit organizations across New York City to support fan engagement activations and youth recreation programming tied to the FIFA World Cup 2026™.
The World Cup for All initiative, launched in February, awards competitive grants ranging from $5,000 and $15,000 to New York City community-based nonprofit organizations to ensure that communities across the five boroughs can experience the excitement and local benefits of the tournament.
The following Staten Island organizations have been selected as 2026 World Cup for All Community Grant recipients:
- Snug Harbor Cultural Center and Botanical Garden
- A Chance In Life, INC.
- The Central Family Life Center, Inc.
“Today, ABNY is proud to support 30 community organizations across all five boroughs with a total of $250,000 to help create welcoming spaces for fans, engage local businesses, and provide youth programming inspired by this historic tournament,” said Emma Pfohman, CEO of the Association for a Better New York. “From neighborhood watch parties to merchant organizing along small business corridors to free youth soccer tournaments, the ABNY Foundation’s World Cup for All community grants will bring the spirit and excitement of the World Cup to communities in every corner of our city.”
“The World Cup’s return to the Big Apple is an incredible economic opportunity for the five boroughs, and we want to ensure every New Yorker can experience the joy and excitement of the world’s largest sporting event,” said Steven Rubenstein, Board Chair for the Association for a Better New York. “Thanks to these grants and the support of ABNY members, community organizations across New York are empowered to host engaging programming right in their backyard.”
The World Cup for All Community Grant Program is made possible through the generous support of Lyft, CLEAR, the Hotel Association of New York, Lizzie and Jonathan Tisch, and Amazon.
