Staten Island Launch Of Online Wellness, Pilates, Guided Movement Platform ‘Beyond The Mat Pilates’

Editor’s note: After the pandemic, we visited HeavenLee Float Spa in Tottenville. This wellness spa oriented location offers in person spa activities, including a salt room, sauna, light therapy, and a float pod. 

Beyond the Mat hosted a completely free community launch event on Sunday, August 16th at 6:00 PM at The Hop Shoppe Garden (2655 Richmond Ave., Staten Island).  This was an outdoor event, and the weather cooperated.

Beyond the Mat was created around a simple idea: movement doesn’t have to be intimidating, expensive, or take an hour out of your day to make a difference. The platform focuses on short, approachable Pilates workouts designed to help people fit movement into real life—even when they only have 10 minutes.

For the launch, I wanted to do more than simply promote the platform online. I’m bringing the community together for a free evening centered around movement, wellness, and local businesses.

The event included a quick 30-minute Pilates flow, local vendors, a flower bar, permanent jewelry, coffee, complimentary sample bites, giveaways, and raffle prizes contributed by businesses in the community. Guests are simply asked to bring their own mat and come enjoy the evening.
