Hundreds of older New Yorkers will take part in fitness classes and health screenings, and learn more about the services the City offers allowing residents to age-in-place

New York, NY – New Yorkers 60 years and older are the fastest growing population in the city, and for the third consecutive year, on September 17, they and their caregivers have the opportunity to receive free health information, resources, screenings, and participate in physical activities to support their well-being at NYC Aging’s Healthy Aging Fair.

Taking place at Asphalt Green on the upper east side of Manhattan, the Fair will feature over 70 City agencies, non-profits, and health organizations. The event is taking place over National Healthy Aging Month, which aims to inspire older adults to improve their physical and mental well-being. It will also be the beginning of Falls Prevention Awareness Week, which was created to educate the public about the serious consequences that falls can have on the life of an older person, and what can be done to prevent them.
