On Staten Island Tomorrow: Dog, Cat Adoption Event Hosted By CM Hanks

FREE PET ADOPTION EVENT THIS SATURDAY

Editor’s note: Whatever your feelings are on the matter of kill/ no kill shelters, the fact is that this shelter in particular is a kill shelter. It’s run by the City also.  But if these animals aren’t adopted after a certain period of time, they will be euthanized. Without this practice, it’s possible this shelter would be overcrowded, as other shelters have experienced in a recent expose by PETA. A magician in New Jersey puts on magic shows for shelter dogs to help get them adopted.

Join us this Saturday October 3rd, alongside the Animal Care Centers of NYC, and Council Member Frank Morano’s office from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM for a special community adoption event at the Animal Care Centers of NYC’s Staten Island location at 3139 Veterans Road W.

Looking for a new best friend? All adoption fees will be waived during the event! Come meet animals looking for their forever homes and find out how you can give a deserving pet a loving family.

This will be more than an adoption event. Local community organizations will be joining us to connect with residents and share resources. There will also be fun activities for children and plenty happening throughout the afternoon for the whole family to enjoy.

Bring the family, stop by, meet some amazing animals, and see if your newest family member is waiting for you!
