January at Lincoln Center: Under the Radar Festival, globalFEST, Art Class Podcast, The Movie Music of Terence Blanchard, and more
Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts’ Winter/Spring season ushers in the new year with our January events. From beloved events like ¡VAYA! and globalFEST, to the debut of the new Art Class podcast, we welcome you to our FREE or Choose-What-You-Pay events.
January highlights include:
- A collaboration with Under the Radar Festival, introducing the creative and imaginative works of diverse playwrights to Lincoln Center with three productions – Inua Ellams’ Search Party, Pan Pan’s The First Bad Man, and Queens of Sheba (January 5-13)
- globalFEST, an evening that will take audiences on a musical journey from Spain to South Africa, showcases 10 global acts in one night (January 14)
- Led by three Black queer artists, art, film, music, and education take center stage for episode one of Lincoln Center’s brand new biweekly podcast, Art Class (January 16)
- Women and Nonbinary Artists in Tech, an event series curated by artist Maylee Todd, combining music, motion capture, and digital art. The series kicks off with a unique 3D, interactive audiovisual performance by nonbinary artist duo Kyoko Takenaka and Tomoki Sanders, and filmmaker Kevin Peter He (January 18)
- ¡VAYA!, a beloved Lincoln Center staple, celebrates salsa with world-renowned percussionist and musician Pedro “Pocholo” Segundo and his band, Boricua Legends Orchestra (January 19)
- The Movie Music of Terence Blanchard, presented in collaboration with the New York Philharmonic, highlights the most notable soundtracks of GRAMMY-winning composer and trumpeter Terence Blanchard over his four-decade long career (January 28)
