Inquizition: Free Book From Relevant Radio Informs Readers Of Various Catholic Facts

The book released in the last couple of years by Relevant Radio, Inquizition by Patrick Madrid, is a lively collection of interesting facts about Catholicism, organized in a quiz format.  Each section features multiple choice questions and answers, with the answer key for each chapter at the end.  Each answer is comprehensive, and features more details about the relevant fact discussed.

There are quite a few little-known facts in this book, including which popular beverage used to be known as the devil’s brew (it’s coffee, which used to be condemned by the Catholic Church but was eventually embraced instead).  One of the few animals not mentioned in the Bible at all, house cats, shows just how many animals were mentioned, including weasels, dogs, and apes.

You will learn about the Catholic Church’s doctrines, including how many of them were preceded by popular heresies.  This would include the denial of the divinity of Christ, which was the Arian heresy that was combated by the Church for many years.

You can also learn the Church’s teaching on marriage and other sacraments.  This includes the belief that marriage is a sacrament conferred by the husband and wife upon each other, and that the celebration of the sacrament by a priest and congregation is not a requirement for a couple to be defined as married.

There are chapters on the founders of new religious orders within the Catholic faith, the reasons behind building epically beautiful church buildings, and pairs of saints throughout the history of the Catholic Church.  Over time there have been sisters and brothers, husbands and wives, and parents and children who have been canonized as saints.

This book is great reading for people who enjoy quiz format type books. Each chapter is arranged with the questions and multiple choice options first, and then the answers are explained at the end of the chapter.  It would also make a great activity for sleepovers and house parties where people are seeking trivia games to play.  People can take turns asking questions from random chapters of the book, and points could be given for correct answers.

This book is available for free, upon request, from Relevant Radio’s website.  The book is also available at this website if they are out of free copies.   It definitely contains a good number of facts that you may not have known about the Catholic faith before reading it.  There are quite a few obscure and unknown facts throughout the book.  For those seeking a greater connection with their faith, or for those who are not Catholic but want to know more about it, this book is for you.  It is definitely fun  to learn some of the more little-known facts, and also defines a lot of the little known doctrines of the Catholic faith.
