Canadians, Many Americans Support Truckers Freedom Convoy, Standing Up For Freedom Against Mandates
Editor’s Note: The Freedom Convoy 2022 has been protesting the vaccine mandates, specifically as it affects truckers traveling between the United States and Canada who would have to quarantine if they are not vaccinated for two weeks, doing incredible and possibly irreparable damage to the supply chain in both countries.
Initially, GoFundMe had refused to give the organizers the money that had been raised (in the area of $10 Million), requiring that they instead provide the donations intended for truckers to a different charity of their choice. As a result, the charity has moved their donation requests to GiveSendGo, a Christian funding site that charges no fees to raise money on their platform. GoFundMe has since announced that all donors who donated to the Freedom Convoy before it was frozen will have their funds automatically refunded to them.
According to the statement on the GoFundMe page above,
“GoFundMe supports peaceful protests and we believe that was the intention of the Freedom Convoy 2022 fundraiser when it was first created; We now have evidence from law enforcement that the previously peaceful demonstration has become an occupation, with police reports of violence and other unlawful activity.”
According to other media reports, the truckers have blockaded several critical bridges, preventing cars and other vehicles from traveling across them. Many provinces in Canada have already moved to rescind their vaccine mandates for truckers traveling internationally.

According to the charity’s fundraising page:
“To our Fellow Canadians, the time for political over reach is over. Our current government is implementing rules and mandates that are destroying the foundation of our businesses, industries and livelihoods. Canadians have been integral to the fabric of humanity in many ways that have shaped the planet.
We are a peaceful country that has helped protect nations across the globe from tyrannical governments who oppressed their people, and now it seems it is happening here. We are taking our fight to the doorsteps of our Federal Government and demanding that they cease all mandates against its people. Small businesses are being destroyed, homes are being destroyed, and people are being mistreated and denied fundamental necessities to survive. It’s our duty as Canadians to put an end to this mandates. It is imperative that this happens because if we don’t our country will no longer be the country we have come to love. We are doing this for our future Generations and to regain our lives back.
