Rep. AOC Reminds New Yorkers To Vote Early, Get Involved In Community Board Meetings For More Impact, Provides Other Updates
Election day is on Tuesday, November 8th — but you can vote early now through November 6th! Voting early is a great way to avoid long lines on election day. However, your early voting site may be different from where you would vote on election day, so be sure to check your poll site before voting!
Thankfully, voting isn’t the only way to get involved in your community! Consider attending a monthly community board meeting in The Bronx or Queens. Community Boards vote on rezoning and other local issues, give community members a forum to voice their concerns, and bring in city agencies to provide updates on planning and special projects. It’s a great way to have your voice heard and make a difference in your own neighborhood. Learn more here.

Apply for Student Loan Forgiveness
A federal appeals court has temporarily halted President Biden’s student debt forgiveness — but borrowers can still apply for relief before a final decision is made. Apply here.
In addition to standard federal student loans, parent PLUS loans are also eligible for student loan forgiveness. This means that a family could double or triple the total amount of loan cancellation. Learn more here.
Other Updates From Our Office
Request a Service Academy nomination by November 1st. Anyone applying to the U.S. Military Academy, the U.S. Naval Academy, the U.S. Air Force Academy, and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy needs a nomination from their Member of Congress to complete their application. While attending a service academy provides students with a college degree at no financial cost, students are required to serve in the military for a minimum of five years upon graduation. Find more information on our website.
Register for the Congressional App Challenge by November 1st! Middle and high school students who reside in or attend a school within NY-14 are encouraged to apply to compete against their peers by creating and exhibiting their software application, or “app”, for mobile, tablet, or computer devices on a platform of their choice.
Get your updated COVID-19 booster vaccine ahead of an expected winter surge! It protects against the original COVID-19 strain AND the most dominant strains of Omicron. As cases rise, we encourage New Yorkers to schedule an appointment today.
