So Weird! Superstition May Have Some Roots In Reality: New Research Study Shows 16% More Parking Tickets Issued On Friday The 13th’s Than Any Other Friday!

Friday the 13th just got a whole lot unlucky for New York City drivers, as a new study by Pay NYC Fines has found that the city issued 16% more parking tickets on this superstitious date compared to any other Friday.

According to the research which is based on NYC’s Open Data Project, Friday the 13th brings out the worst in traffic enforcement officers, who are notoriously known for their quick trigger fingers when it comes to handing out parking citations.

The study analyzed parking ticket data over the last five years and found that drivers in the city should be extra cautious on this fateful date.

While some may chalk this up to bad luck, others may see it as a conspiracy to fleece drivers out of their hard-earned cash. Regardless of the reason, drivers are advised to double check their parking signs and avoid parking in bus stops, fire lanes, and other areas that are commonly targeted by ticket issuers. The study didn’t provide a definitive answer, but it’s clear that drivers in New York City need to be extra careful on this unlucky date.

So, if you’re driving in New York City on the next Friday the 13th, be sure to keep your eyes peeled for those sneaky traffic enforcement officers, and remember to double check your parking signs.

And, if all else fails, maybe it’s time to invest in a lucky rabbit’s foot for your dashboard.
