Museum of Modern Art Presents Chosen Memories: Contemporary Latin American Art Opens To Public April 30

Chosen Memories: Contemporary Latin American Art from the Patricia Phelps de Cisneros Gift and Beyond

Opens Apr 30
Member Previews Apr 27–29

From reframing colonial histories to exploring ideas of belonging and kinship, Chosen Memories illuminates the ways artists investigate and retell history.

The exhibition brings together videos, photographs, paintings, and sculptures made over the past four decades by an intergenerational group of artists working across Latin America. These diverse works and approaches propose that the past is never fully past, but rather, is a fertile field of possibilities for the present.

Be the first to see the exhibition during Member Previews, and learn more about the art on view with our exhibition playlist, in-depth essays and interviews on Magazine, and upcoming programs with artists that you won’t want to miss.
