Behind the Music with Grace Potter

Today, we are going behind the music with one of Vermont’s many great artists: singer-songwriter Grace Potter.

Born and raised in Fayston, Vermont, Grace burst onto the music scene in the early 2000s as a solo musician and with her band at the time, The Nocturnals. Since then, Grace has become a Grammy-nominated artist, written many albums, toured the country, and shared stages with the likes of The Rolling Stones, Robert Plant, and The Allman Brothers Band. After playing nearly every major music festival in the country, Grace worked hard to create Grand Point North – a music festival right here in Vermont that brought together local artists and musicians from all over.

Even at a young age, Grace knew how important it was for artists to have working space in our communities and the vital role that arts play in making us feel truly human. As a true Vermonter, she has been not only an outstanding performer, but a vocal advocate for the arts and artists. We much appreciate all that she is doing.

Recently, the Bernie Buzz got the chance to sit down with Grace, hear some more of her story, and some of her advice for young Vermonters. We also got to hear her play. I hope you’ll take a moment to watch the video above and listen for yourself.
