Limitless Monday – Embrace the daredevil within you

When was the last time you watched a Rocky movie or the Christmas classic, It’s a Wonderful Life? This genre of film is designed to leave the viewer feeling uplifted and inspired after witnessing a rollercoaster tale of personal growth and triumph against the odds.

We are all on our own journey of personal growth and self-discovery. In fact, we probably have a personalized theme tune to our feature length life story in which we are the super hero battling against what we believe are insurmountable odds. It’s a fact; we all believe life revolves around ourselves, and that we are invincible.

So with the Christmas holidays just around the corner, this is a perfect time to watch one of these uplifting movies and use it as inspiration for our own journey.

We must remind ourselves, however, that our challenges are not unique. Thousands, if not millions, have faced similar challenges. Films are only made about the people who have overcome obstacles far greater than the ones we are ever likely to face. Use this thought as your own inspiration and know that you will always prevail over the many difficulties you are set to face in your daily life.

The trick is to select big goals. Knowing and believing that you will always prevail, why set a small one? Stretch yourself. As a wiseman once said, if you are going to be thinking anyway, you may as well think big. 

Be the daredevil in your own movie. Take risks, relinquish control. Make 2024 the year of thinking big.
