Readers may remember The Salvation Army’s Star Lake Camp program.  In previous years, we’ve announced the send-off, but this year we’re pleased to announce that there are still 21 slots remaining open for the day camps offered by Stapleton Corps.  Info about the program itself will be below the announcement and program dates.

They currently have 21 slots open for camp from the Stapleton Corps

Here is a list of camp dates for 2024:

July 1-6: Music and Creative Arts Week

July 8-12: Adventure via Imagination Week

July 15-19: Mega Sports Week I

July 22-26: Mega Sports Week II

July 30-31: One-Day Camp Experiences

Now in its 101st year, children throughout New York are gearing up for friendship and fun at The Salvation Army Greater New York Division’s Star Lake Camp in Bloomingdale, NJ. Campers will take part in programs to match their interests – including STEM, Music Camp, Mega Sports, and Conservancy. Campers will be able to participate in activities many have never done before, like swimming in a lake, making new friends from different parts of New York, and obtaining mentorship and leadership from seasoned counselors.

The Salvation Army is one of the largest providers of free and reduced-price music education (public schools are #1), offering campers great music opportunities.

The camp will also provide much needed socialization and activities for seniors (55+) who otherwise might be isolated.
