Limitless Monday: Did You Do It All? Have You Really Lived?

Limitless Monday – Did you do it all?

I was listening to a song the other day. To be frank, I rarely listen to the words of songs. It’s all about the rhythm for me.

Anyway, this particular song captured my attention and is my inspiration for today’s article. The song in question is, “I lived” by OneRepublic.

The two questions I want to ask you on this happy Monday morning are short and sweet: have you lived? And, have you done it all?

Your definition of ‘doing it all’ is probably different than mine and most other people’s, come to think of it.

And whilst I am content with having done it all at this stage of my life, it is never over. In fact, it is only the beginning for me.

If I popped off today cycling my bike to work, I would be a little irritated that I didn’t fulfill my full potential, but generally I would be content. The question, have you lived?, isn’t a simple one, however.

It applies to a moment in time. It disregards your future potential, because you have no future in this scenario.

There is no opportunity to correct the wrongs and the undones. That is why it is essential you not only ask these pertinent questions of yourself, but if the answers are returned in the negative, you must begin with haste living out your dream.

These are questions we should all be asking ourselves constantly. The perfect time to pose such probing questions is when we find ourselves devoting a large proportion of our time to lazing around watching TikTok pet videos or sharing pictures on Facebook. In other words, watching other people’s lives rather than working on our own.

Another question you should be asking is, are you letting your life slip away? Borrowing the lyrics from another inspiring song, “The Nights” by Avicii, “One day you will leave this life behind, so live the life you will remember.”

It’s time to start living, my friend!

Happy Monday!
