“What Does Memorial Day Mean To Me?” Essay Contest Winners Award Ceremony Friday For Staten Island Fourth Graders Hosted By Senator Lanza

SENATOR LANZA TO HOST ANNUAL MEMORIAL DAY ESSAY CONTEST
Editor’s note: Staten Islander News recently reported on Rep. Malliotakis’ President’s Day Contest winners. Senator Lanza hosts this event each year to remind students of the importance of Memorial Day.
Senator Andrew Lanza will be sponsoring his annual Memorial Day Essay Contest to award 4th ute grade students across Staten Island for the exemplary work that they demonstrated within their essays. The essay topic for this year is “What Does Memorial Day Mean to Me?”
Fourth grade students from schools throughout Staten Island took part in this annual essay contest where each essay submission required 150 to 175 words on their own thoughts regarding what Memorial Day means to them.
Teachers sent their student’s completed essays to the office of Senator Lanza where winners were selected from each participating school. Those selected will be recognized at a ceremony on Friday, May 31, 2024, at IS 24 at 4PM.
