Following are statements from the president and some of our Staten Island and New York elected officials who were re-elected to their respective seats:

From President Trump’s speech:

“Thank you very much. Wow. Well, I want to thank you all very much. This is great. These are our friends. We have thousands of friends in this incredible movement. This is a movement like nobody’s ever seen before and, frankly, this was, I believe, the greatest political movement of all time. There’s never been anything like this in this country, and maybe the [world], and now it’s going to reach a new level of importance because we’re going to help our country heal. We’re going to help our country heal. We have a country that needs help, and it needs help very badly. We’re going to fix our borders, we’re going to fix everything about our country, and we’ve made history for a reason tonight, and the reason is going to be just that…”

Asm. Pirozzolo:

From the bottom of my heart – THANK YOU STATEN ISLAND! To every voter, friend, supporter, donor, and volunteer – this victory is for you, and would not have been possible without you. I will never waver on defending Staten Islanders, and I look forward to returning to Albany to continue the fight for common sense.

Thank you.

Rep. Malliotakis made the following statement:

What an incredible victory!

I am grateful to all of you who have given me another two years to serve our community and country in Congress.

GILLIBRAND STATEMENT ON WINNING REELECTION TO THE U.S. SENATE AND EXPECTED SUCCESS OF THE COORDINATED CAMPAIGN

New York, NY – Celebrating her victorious reelection campaign, U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand released the following statement:

“This victory makes it absolutely clear that New Yorkers believe in a government that works, and that we must put people over politics. I am committed to finding common sense solutions, which is why I always reach across the aisle to find common ground, from delivering health benefits for first responders and veterans, to taking illegal guns off the street, to bringing down costs for New York families. New Yorkers believe in fundamental truths, like caring about our neighbors and treating others with kindness, decency and respect. That has been, and will continue to be, the hallmark of my public service.”

“I am so proud of the historic coordinated campaign we’ve built here in New York. Together with Governor Hochul, Leader Jeffries, and Chair Jacobs, we have built a turnout machine never before seen in our state. The numbers are incredible: 1.3 million doors, 5 million calls and 23,000 volunteers. This is democracy in action, and I am confident we’re going to flip the necessary seats we need to take back the House majority for the Democratic Party.”

State Senators Scarcella-Spanton and Andrew Lanza, and our other Assemblymembers were also re-elected to their respective seats. Senator Lanza and three Assemblymembers had no competitor in this election.
