GILLIBRAND TO CHAIR SUBCOMMITTEE HEARING WITH NEW DIRECTOR OF AARO, OFFICE THAT ANALYZES UAPS

Editor’s note: We previously covered the Office of Naval Intelligence’s Unidentified Aerial Phenomenon Task Force, which operated with the intention to be as transparent as possible to the American public with its findings.  People have been interested in UAPs (formerly known as UFOs) for decades, particularly with the discoveries in Roswell, New Mexico that have fascinated the general public perhaps more so even than the government.  Sightings and alleged abductions have also been reported for many years across the country and across the globe.

Washington, D.C. – November 19: U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, chair of the Senate Armed Services Subcommittee on Emerging Threats and Capabilities, will hold a hearing to receive testimony on the activities of the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO) and to hear from its new director, Dr. Jon T. Kosloski.

The hearing aired live on the C-SPAN Now video app and at https://www.c-span.org/

Gillibrand created AARO in the FY22 NDAA to focus the Department of Defense (DoD) on resolving UAP sightings, improving data sharing between DoD and the Intelligence Community on UAP sightings, addressing national security concerns, and reporting health effects people may experience in relation to UAP events. AARO has access to DoD and Intelligence Community UAP data and is required to provide Congress with briefings and reports on UAPs.

Dr. Jon T. Kosloski serves as the director of AARO. Prior to that, Dr. Kosloski held technical and leadership positions within the Research Directorate of the National Security Agency (NSA). In that capacity, he led advanced mission-oriented research in the fields of networking and computing, and he served as a subject matter expert in the area of Free Space Optics, advising various DoD agencies. Dr. Kosloski received Bachelor’s degrees in Mathematics and Physics from California State University, San Bernardino, and a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Johns Hopkins University.
