New York City Health Department to Host Virtual Media Roundtable on Respiratory Virus Season
Editor’s note: We recently reported on Dr. Fauci coming clean on the Covid vaccine and respiratory viruses, quietly and without fanfare. And Senator Gillibrand discussed the effects of avian flu at egg farms across the country
See below for a recording  of this roundtable event. Due to technical difficulties, the the last minute or two of the meeting was not recorded (but this was during the last answer):
Regarding the doctors participating in this roundtable, they are Acting Commissioner Dr. Michelle Morse and NYC Health Department Acting Medical Director of Disease Control Dr. Tristan McPherson
We asked the following: How do the vaccines work for those without insurance, whether they would qualify for public insurance or not? Are there places they can go (like those vans or buses maybe) where they (or their kids) can get the vaccines without insurance?  This would be mainly for people who don’t have health insurance but don’t qualify for Medicaid.  Since about 95% of residents have some form of insurance, this would apply to only a small group of people, so if you can let me know what people in that situation can do, that would be appreciated.
On our HealthMap, folks can search by services across the city (including vaccines) as well as by insured/uninsured. Please see below as a reference:
